I made some progress on my sock. It’s looking good! As promised, here are some pictures. I’m so pleased at how it’s turning out, I decided to buy some Lorna’s Laces yarn since I just fell in love with all of their colorways. Since I can’t get any here (even online), I had some sent to my friends who are coming at the end of the month. Can’t wait!

A day’s work
Day 2 progress
Here’s what it looks like on my foot!

Hi Kris, those socks look so complicated! But they are beautiful when finished! Just think, it was up to the women for so many centuries to provide socks and no wonder they darned them just to keep them going so they didn’t have to make more socks….!! Have you ever wondered how women ever figured out the complicated pattern to create a sock? (while spinning yarn, weaving fabric, gardening, birthing, cooking, cleaning, and child rearing – among other things!
I will be so glad to see you all in December. Cathy, Tammy, and Christina will come for a weekend so we will all enjoy your visit. Love, Carole, Mom, Grandma

What does bockstark mean (pronounced bok-shtark)? My crazy German friend, Matthias, made that word up to mean "really cool" and says that it is catching on in Garmisch. So I am helping him popularize the word! I thought if I ever opened a yarn store, I would call it "Bockstark Yarns". This blog is all about my projects, yarns and crazy ideas related to knitting and other crafts. Contact me at bockstark.knits(at)gmail(dot)com.
