Knitting magazine and a nice note on a box of ???
Yummy!!!
I AM violently happy!!!!

OK, I have been so lucky the last few days. First, I got *2* packages from my Secret Pal. She is from the UK, but I already suspected that since she wrote “flat” instead of “apartment” in her emails. The first package contained “Knitting” magazine and I already read it all! I miss perusing magazines, so this was a nice gift. The second package contained a nice assortment of chocolates (yum!) in a pretty Easter bunny bowl. She even included a letter explaining all of the chocolates. How sweet is that? It is also a very useful training tool for the boys. They know that they get an egg whenever they share. I’m trying to tell them that they get a chocolate if they don’t trash their room. It’s not working so far. I think they don’t remember or they just can’t resist the urge to pull their beds apart. They get so upset though when they see *me* eating one. Thanks for the package my oh-so-sweet SP!!! Now if I can only get my act together for my downstream pal, I’m trying to get out a package this week so that it will be in time for her birthday.

Also, I wanted to show you the drawing that I received from Shernoh. He is elemmaciltur’s boyfriend. I met him at last week’s SNB because he was visiting from Cologne. He is a very nice guy (maybe a little on the quiet side) and super talented - check out his drawings on his website! I’m always so jealous of these artist types who just seem to ooze creativity. Anyways, he loved the Stitchy McYarnpants book that I brought in and he wanted to borrow it. I told him “sure, but you’ll need to make a drawing for me.” I kind of said it half jokingly, in the hopes that he would do it. Well, sure enough he did!!! Elemmaciltur gave me this nicely wrapped little gift at this past Sunday’s SNB. Included was a nicely written note too. Gawd, I just love stuff like this. I was so surprised and I absolutely love the drawing. I’m a big Bjork fan and “Violently Happy” is one of my faves. Thanks Shernoh, what a sweetie you are. Elemmaciltur, you did good! ;) Now on to finding a nice frame for it.

I always wanted to join SP but somehow never got round to it. Might have to give it a go next year and pack together something nice for my pal :)

What does bockstark mean (pronounced bok-shtark)? My crazy German friend, Matthias, made that word up to mean "really cool" and says that it is catching on in Garmisch. So I am helping him popularize the word! I thought if I ever opened a yarn store, I would call it "Bockstark Yarns". This blog is all about my projects, yarns and crazy ideas related to knitting and other crafts. Contact me at bockstark.knits(at)gmail(dot)com.
