Do you want to know what Claudia (aka the Wollmeise) sounds like in her cute Bavarian accent? Do you want to know why she doesn’t knit for her 3 kids? Do you want to know about the upcoming market? Well, the time has come – Claudia took time out of her busy schedule to hang with Knitters Uncensored. It was an almost 3 hour long podcast and I managed to get half of it done last night. Check it out!!! Stay tuned for part 2.

If you are interested in getting some free Knitters Uncensored stickers (looks just like the logo), please email me or leave a comment. If you are in Germany, just send me your address, if you are in the US, I will give you the info where you can send me a SASE (remember those?) and I’ll send them whenever I arrive later this month.
Unfortunately, I can’t send it to other countries since it will cost too much. Maybe if we can work out some kind of shipping arrangement…. :)

OK, it really works to set goals and write them down and really focus on it. I know this, I have done this many, many times and yet, I always fall back on just having it “in my head”. What happens is that it never gets done. I have procrastinated editing the most recent podcast episode, just due to laziness and oh my god, I need so much time to do that. I was supposed to send Billy Reid his socks, they have been done since I got back from London. Can you believe since the time I told him I was making him socks to when I sent them (TODAY!) he moved from Victoria to Vancouver and back!
So, my goals for this week are:
1. Edit the podcast and get it uploaded
2. Send the socks to Billy which requires photographing, washing and coming up with a creative package for it
3. Make at least a rough draft of the pattern to get test knitted
4. Create my xmas list and figure out where I’m at knitting wise
5. Tell people to stop having so many babies that I can’t keep up with knitted gifts
6. Take pictures of some finished objects that have been sitting around waiting for me
So, I am proud to say that it is Tuesday, and #1 and #2 are DONE! #5 is also done, being that I posted it here, in which everyone who read it vows not to have a baby in the next 12-24 months. #4 is half done, and #6 will hopefully be done tomorrow. Which that leaves big #3 in question. Will I accomplish this feat that Ms. Flint Knits has been harassing me to? For her sake and mine, I hope the answer is yes.
This Yarn Pirate is all mine!!!
Lisa Souza Hardtwist Gendarme
Hey, guess what?
I won a contest (finally!). Ingrid was having a contest for the book “Knitting Under the Influence”. Hmmm….a little close to home perhaps? Anyways, I won the drawing and I just received the book! Thanks, Ingrid, can’t wait to read it! I also got my Lisa Souza yarn as well as the Yarn Pirate from a swap I did with ShadKitty. Folks, I’m still on my yarn diet and doing well. The only one that gets me is Posh Yarn. Her shop update emails are forcing me to look. Luckily, there hasn’t been anything that is really tempting me. But oh, it’s only a matter of time. I was hoping the Lisa Souza yarn would be thinner, but it’s ok, the socks will just fly off the needles!!! I got the hardtwist one based on someone’s recommendation on the last contest I did. It is for a pair of socks for Michael. How lucky he is. He can almost go to work every day in a pair of handknitted socks. Yippee! Oh and the Yarn Pirate, how I love thee. I don’t know what Shad was thinking giving this skein up, Temporary insanity??? :) Thanks Shad! Don’t know what I’m going to make with all of these. For right now, they will sit in my stash while I ponder what to make with them. The podcast has sucked up a lot of time between editing, recording, planning, emailing. There is a lot to say, especially on the subject of weird things in Germany. I always forget to write stuff down and then I get so mad whenever I forget. DOH! Don’t worry folks, there is a LOT to say. It has been a whole lot of fun though and elem and cashyie are great partners. And since we have all this new music equipment in our house (for the podcasting), Michael’s music interest has come back with a vengence. For those of you who don’t know, I met my husband in LA where he was playing in a band with the now lead singer of Weezer. He is an extremely talented guitarist and musician and I am so lucky to be married to him. He got tired of the “scene” (we were 19 at the time) and decided to go to school to study music composition. But then he quickly saw how there would be no money in his future and decided to switch to computer science. He has been a programming geek since then, but he loves to play his guitar now and then, especially to our boys. We sold off most of our recording equipment when we moved here, so now having a scaled down version of what we had is bringing the musician in him back out. We had a lot of fun writing and recording the podcast theme song! Yes, horrible singing, I know, but what can you do?
This morning we recorded our podcast and it was so much fun! To calm our nerves and to get us talking, we got some alcoholic help. It maybe worked too well. I think we recorded about 2 hours of non-stop jabber which I had to edit down to 45 minutes. I hope you like it. It’s a little racy, not too bad though. I edited out the REALLY bad parts. We could’ve easily gone on for another 2 hours! So…drumroll please…our new podcast is…KNITTERS UNCENSORED! You can get all the info at http://knittersuncensored.blogspot.com. We even got permission to use a song from Deirdre Flint!!! How cool is that? And ahem, the theme song was written and sung by yours truly. Can you tell I have a professional singing career in my future? NOT! My husband did the music and it was a lot of fun to work on something together.
So please, leave a comment there and show us some love! :) (shameless plug for subscribers!) We’re even giving away FREE YARN so check it out, at least for that. Hopefully in a few days you will be able to subscribe to it through iTunes. We submitted it but it has to be reviewed and all that jazz.
